Chronic Tacos staging celebrity taco eating contest to benefit No Kid Hungry

Chronic Tacos will kick off a month of fundraising for the charity No Kid Hungry with a taco eating contest pitting celebrities against competitive eaters.

Chronic Tacos and Dexter Holland, the lead singer of The Offspring who also founded the Gringo Bandito Hot Sauce, will host the fourth annual "Gringo Bandito Chronic Tacos Challenge" on Sept. 1.

Contestants will include competitive eaters Kobayashi, Jamie "The Bear" McDonald, Damon Wells,Naader "Freak8r" Reda, Matt Cohen, as well as MTV celebrity Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, along with a few amateurs.

The event will be held at the Chronic Tacos store located at 306 S. Pacific Coast Hwy., Redondo
Beach, Calif. from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. Chronic Tacos will be donating 15 percent of the day's proceeds to No Kid Hungry. The event will also feature live music, door prizes and more.

"We're thrilled to launch an event with high profile celebrities and professionals such as Dexter Holland, Wee Man and Kobayashi to raise even greater awareness for No Kid Hungry," said Michael Mohammed, CEO of Chronic Tacos. "This is the fourth year we've hosted the taco eating contest, but the first year we've partnered with No Kid Hungry. Our hope is to change the lives of children being affected by connecting 250,000 kids with meals by raising $25,000 throughout September."

Chronic Taco will offer a free taco on their next visit for each donation of $1 to No Kid Hungry
throughout the month of September. Posters will also be on display throughout stores educating
guests and employees on childhood hunger issues.
